Introduction and Purpose

The Center for Transformative Learning (CTL) offers a variety of services to faculty, staff, and students. Please use the list below to learn about the services provided by the CTL. If you are interested in using any of our services, please let us know by submitting a service request on the Information Technology Services (ITS) website.

We are currently working with ITS to place our services on their website. We will update this page to update you on the progress of this project once our services are listed on their website.

Assistance with room controllers for special eventsComplete this request to receive help on how to use room controllers to connect laptops, show presentations, and complete other functions for special events.
Assistance with filming special eventsComplete this request to begin preliminary planning on the filming of special events. Due to workload and very limited availability of personnel to complete this request, services must be submitted ten days in advance.
Assistance with streaming special events on YouTubeComplete this request to begin preliminary planning on the streaming of special events. Due to workload and very limited availability of personnel to complete this request, services must be submitted ten days in advance.
Assistance with audio/video recordingComplete this request to receive assistance on the creation of audio and video files and the appropriate area to store them for efficient distribution.
Assistance with the creation of presentations in digital formatsComplete this request to receive assistance on best practices to promote or present information about degree programs, department functions or processes, etc. in a digital format. A template may be provided in some cases.
Assistance with open educational resources (OER)Complete this request to receive assistance with OER-related questions such as the general information, the creation of content, digital licensing for distribution, and the attribution of content used for course development.
Assistance with using the Grade Center in BlackboardComplete this request to receive assistance with using the Grade Center in Blackboard to setup weighted grades and other Grade Center columns.
Assistance with portfolio of practice development for faculty rankComplete this request to receive assistance with organizing and digitizing your portfolio submission.
Creation of digital effects, animated content, or specialized graphicsComplete this request to request the creation of high-end digital content to educate. Services in this area are considered project-based and will require a significant amount of time for completion. Time lines are decided based on an initial consult meeting after the service is requested.
Learn to use classroom technologyComplete this request to receive training on how to use various classroom technologies on campus.
Learn to use basic functions in Blackboard as an instructorComplete this request to receive support on the basic use of Blackboard as an instructor. Instructors can also request this for group training for their department or division. Basic use of Blackboard is defined as utilization in a traditional classroom setting.
Learn to use intermediate functions in Blackboard as an instructorComplete this request to receive support on the intermediate use of Blackboard as an instructor. Instructors can also request this for group training for their department or division. Intermediate use of Blackboard is defined as utilization in a blended or hybrid classroom setting.

Someone from the Faculty Development Team in the Center for Transformative Learning will collaborate with you (traditional or online) and evaluate your teaching practices. This service is to improve and assist best evidence practices and learning outcomes.
