Posted on Posted in General Information

Randy Candelaria and Learning Resources is pleased to announce that NC-NET Academy is accepting enrollment for Spring 2018 courses beginning Monday, December 4!

From NC-NET:

Incorporating Active Learning Strategies in the College Classroom
Course dates: January 12 – February 23, 2018
Come explore ways to increase student engagement and participation in your courses. We’ll begin by examining best practices and models of active learning, including case studies, problem-based learning, and collaborative group learning. Along the way, we’ll self-assess the degree to which our current teaching strategies promote active learning. Finally, we’ll stretch beyond our comfort zones and redesign a lesson that is usually taught in a more passive manner. Note: Participants must be teaching at least one face-to-face class to complete the activities in this course.
Technology Bootcamp II
Course dates: January 12 – February 23, 2018
Feeling confident from the Technology Bootcamp I experience, you’re ready for the accelerated pace of this course that will explore one to two technology tools each week. You’ll take your lectures to the next level with Prezi, easily make your own word clouds and concept maps, create and collaborate in Google Docs (documents, spreadsheets, slides), try out some lecture capture and distribution technologies, collaboration tools, discuss copyrights, and more. Note:This course requires a significant time commitment, an eagerness to interact with colleagues, and a reliable multimedia computer with high speed Internet. Although recommended, Tech Bootcamp I is not a prerequisite.
